Body Armor Outlet began in 2004 as a tiny online distributor for used ballistic armor. It was founded by Raymond Luciano Bellia while attending college at The University of New Haven in Connecticut. Recognizing the national economic condition, Raymond started a “buyback” program and began liquidating the outdated ballistic vests of law enforcement establishments nationwide, and fitting their officers with new, affordable, top-of-the-line body armor at a fraction of his competitors’ costs.

For the first time, BAO had a brick-and-mortar retail store, supplying jobs to the local community and allowing local law enforcement to come in and see the products firsthand or get custom on-the-spot fitting for armor and uniforms.

By late 2013, the store outgrew its location and needed to expand. BAO packed up and got its own 6000 square foot facility in a prime location on Route 111 just down the road in Salem, still within shouting distance of the Massachusetts border and serving the same great folks they grew with.

Body Armor Outlet has made a commitment to begin offering a wide range of police and tactical supplies to cover all aspects of the industry. Body Armor Outlet has taken on over a dozen new manufacturers that make the best products in their categories and have at least another dozen that will be added in the upcoming months, including full-line uniforms and clothing.
